Welcome to Wellbeing Plus
We are a registered charity, which was set up by a number of volunteers who suffer from long term health conditions of varying degrees. Our aim is to offer practical help and support to people within the North East who are struggling with any of the following:
long term health conditions
Mental health problems
Food insecurity
Financial Difficulties
Loneliness & Isolation
Depression etc
Wellbeing Plus host a coffee morning every Tuesday morning from 10am until 12pm. The coffee morning is open to everyone. We offer a warm and welcoming environment and provide tea, coffee and snacks, which is all free of charge.
We also run many craft sessions, which include refreshments and are also free to our participants. Each craft group runs for 8 weeks and we teach many different crafts, including the following:
-
Card making
-
3D crafts
-
Diamond painting
-
Painting
-
Recycling and upcycling
-
Cross stitching
-
Jewellery making
-
Beadwork crafts
-
Pyrography
-
Colouring
-
Book folding
-
And many more
All craft groups are kept small to help relieve stress and anxiety that can be experienced when meeting new people and/or when walking into a group setting or an unfamiliar environment. During these sessions we give a personal approach to every participant. This is done by the tutor/facilitator along with volunteers working as peer supporters to ensure that everyone in the group have their needs met at all times and ensuring that they are following the lesson whilst also offering practical support to help participants complete their projects.
As a registered charity, we are run by our board of trustees, and a number of us actively work to recruit new members and to make other services aware of Wellbeing Plus, and how we can also benefit their clients.

Hello i have a young lady who would benefit from this. Could she pop along?
Hello,
I have Fibromyalgia & am unable to work. I live in Boosbeck & since losing my Mum, who was my carer and best friend 2 years ago I have become very depressed & isolated.
I’m not sure what I am good at, but think I really need to try to meet people & try something new.
Could you please email any information I need to join your groups.
Thank you so much
Amanda
